Duties and Responsibilities
The primary focus of an Anchor/Report is responsible for reading the news for our evening broadcasts and to gather all necessary information and resources for various news stories either in person or via telephone. Core Job Functions: Delivers newscasts in a compelling manner that is engaging to the viewer's. Maintains a professional appearance that meets the standards and expectations of station management. Develops news sources within the viewing area. In addition, maintain and grow those contacts on a regular basis. Acts as a community ambassador, representing the station at functions and events throughout the viewing area. Serves as leader within the newsroom offering advice, editing and story ideas. Works closely with the show producers editing reporter scripts, editing copy stories for the nightly broadcasts and making show run-down suggestions. Acts as a field anchor/reporter for special assignments or weather coverage. Suggests story ideas daily and reports as assigned. Anchors promotional spots as assigned. Promotes station on several forms of social media every day. Performs other duties as assigned. Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.

Candidate Requirements
Summary of Qualifications Minimum Knowledge Skills & Abilities: A minimum of five years experience anchoring for a commercial television news operation. Possess an above average knowledge of television newscast production techniques and television news writing. Must possess a valid State Driver's license (or be able to get one). Education Requirements: Primary anchors should possess a four-year college degree in liberal arts, or Journalism, or equivalent career experience. Physical Requirements: Primary anchors should be computer literate. Have the ability to operate VTR, Audio recorders and other equipment as it relates to reporting and anchoring. Anchors need to have the ability to see and hear to effectively communicate with the viewing audience.
Desired Education: Bachelor's Degree
