CDL Driver- Night shift- Market Haul (Smithfield, VA)

Responsibilities include unloading live pigs from the livestock trailer at the packing plant. Requires a valid state Class “A” CDL license, a clean driving record, and 1 year CDL class “A” driving experience. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Must have good work history and be willing to work 10-12 hour shifts starting between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. Position will report to our Smithfield VA office.

CDL Driver- Night shift- Feed Delivery (Waverly, VA)

Responsibilities include delivering feed from the Mill to the Farms. Requires a valid state Class “A” CDL license, a clean driving record, and 1 year CDL class “A” driving experience. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. Must have good work history and be willing to work 10-12 hour shifts starting between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. Position will report to our Waverly VA office.

Transportation Manager (Smithfield, VA)
Responsibilities include the following: Supervision of truck drivers, sanitation workers, dispatchers, and contractors within the dept. Direct the planning, organization, and management of the daily shipment schedule. Maintains communication with other depts to ensure the efficiency and quality of the animals delivered. Maintain site safety and OSHA compliance. Ensures compliance of federal and state DOT requirements including driver files, hours of service, training requirements, and maintain up to date information. Qualified candidates will have 3 years experience in transportation with 1 year of supervisory experience. College degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and training. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Software. Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required. CDL class “A” license preferred. Must have thorough understanding of DOT rules and regulations.
Feed Mill Manager Trainee (Waverly, VA)

This person is placed in a hands-on training program to become a feed mill manager. Supervisory and management training is included to develop a manager that is prepared to handle all phases of feed production and employee management. This position will demonstrate knowledge and skills learned on the job, and become certified in all aspects of company feed manufacturing systems and pork industry standards. Qualifications include a 4-year B.S degree in Feed Manufacturing/Nutritional Sciences or equivalent. Good computer skills and a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable MVR. Ability to climb up and down ladders; work in areas of considerable height and be physically fit to lift up to 60 pounds. Must be able to work under adverse conditions (dust, extreme heat, cold, etc).
Day shift 7am-5pm, M-F, rotating weekend work, Holidays as needed. On call during evenings as needed.



Millwright- (Creswell, NC and Waverly, VA)

This position is responsible for the following:
• Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
• Dismantle machines. Moves machinery and equipment.
• Assemble and install equipment such as shafting, conveyors and tram rails.
• Construct foundation for machines. Align machines and equipment.
• Repair and lubricates machines and equipment.
• Install robotics controller and make modifications as necessary.
Qualifications include one or more years of hands-on experience with 3-phase electricity (480 volts) required. Knowledge of PLC automation preferred. Ability to climb up and down ladders; work in areas of considerable height and be physically fit to lift up to 60 pounds. Must be able to work under adverse conditions (dust, extreme heat, cold, etc). Day shift 7am-5pm, M-F, rotating weekend work, Holidays as needed. On call during evenings as needed.

Gilt Selection Technician (Farmville and South Boston VA)

Qualified candidates must possess a clean, valid driver’s license and have steady work history. The work schedule will be day shift with varying hours. Starting pay is $25K, previous swine production experience will be considered.

Sanitizer (Smithfield, VA)

Wash and disinfect live haul tractor-trailers using a high power water hose. Maintain cleaning equipment. Take weekly inventories of chemicals and report the needed chemicals in a timely manner for order to be delivered. High school education preferred. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, walk, and stoop for extended periods of time. Ability to climb using stairs, steps and ladders. Be capable to operate a tractor-trailer inside the truck yard with moderate training provided. A CDL license is not required.
Night shift position. Must be available to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Production Trainee

This position is an on-the-job-training position that prepares the individual for Farm Management. The Manager Trainee is responsible for the feeding and handling of pigs on the farm while learning management responsibilities. The ideal candidates will have a steady work history; be reliable; and have the desire to work in progressive, modern agricultural/ swine production operations.
Qualified candidates will have at least one-year supervisory experience, a college education in an agricultural field or applicable work history in an agricultural field.
