We are currently seeking applicants for a full time Food Service Assistant Manager at Camp Allen Marine base in Norfolk to be available to work a flexible schedule and rotating schedule Sunday through Saturday between 5:30 am and 6:45 pm M-F and 8:30 am and 6:00 pm weekend and holidays.
Essential duties include managing day to day operations; managing inventory ;oversee storage; equipment inspection; ensuring compliance with contract requirements, including standards for quality, cleanliness, and workplace safety; training and supervising employees who prep food, serve food, wash dishes, and perform janitorial duties; understand FIFO and HACCP logs; completing required documentation, approving time sheets, evaluating and documenting performance, and maintaining positive relationships with customers.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum of 5 years experience in Government or Commercial food service to include 3 years of supervisory responsibilities, possess a firm understanding of inventory control and cash handling procedures. Have the physical stamina to work in a commercial galley; be able to stand for at least four hours and lift at least 50 lbs; be able to train and supervise food service workers with disabilities; and have the ability to use the computer including Microsoft Office and be proficient in Excel, Works, Word, and Outlook. Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Pre-Employment drug testing, acceptable driving record and clearance through a criminal background investigation to access military installation required.
