Summary

This position is responsible for all aspects of issues related to the Company’s property, equipment, vehicles, communication and other systems. This position recommends or oversees assets acquisitions and disposals, maintenance schedules, communications and other systems. This position plans and carries out special projects, acts as the Emergency Preparedness point of contact and is the health and Safety Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assists Company Leaders in overseeing facilities related matters.
• Determines how the need of people with disabilities impacts the Company facilities, equipment, maintenance and systems.
• Coordinates the development, preparation, and execution of budgets and facilities plans. Prepares reports as necessary.
• Participates in annual review of safety and emergency preparedness policies.

• Responsible for asset security, acquisition, and disposal.
• Responsible for effective oral and written communication.

Qualifications/Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Administration or related field preferred.
Experience: Requires at least 3 years involving facilities operations, planning and budgeting.
Skills Knowledge & Abilities: Broad knowledge and experience working with life safety codes, OSHA regulations, contracting, financial management, vehicle and building maintenance principles, emergency planning and with other regulatory agencies. Various computer skills. Ability to work with people with significant disabilities and understand needs.



Environmental

Office work and moderate outside work. May be called upon to perform duties at night, weekends, and in inclement weather. Frequent travel, primarily within the local area. Will respond to after hours emergency situations. May be called upon to life heavy objects.

Bus Operator - PT $9.00 hr during training and $11.41 hr after graduation Responsible for operating Agency revenue service vehicles safely to include 29 to 40 ft buses used in public transportation in the cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach. Supervises a technical staff to ensure adherence to the current building codes. Work involves review of complex construction documents for compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code and educating the public on building safety concerns and code compliance. Requirements

Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Management or a related field; 3 - 5 years progressively responsible work experience in building inspections, engineering, construction or related field, including two years of supervisory experience; or any related experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.



Must possess a valid Driver’s License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
