Unloader, Part Time, Schedule Sunday through Thursday 6pm-10pm

Position Description

Responsible for ensuring an efficient flow of the unload process. This includes setting up receiving equipment (e.g., conveyor) and materials (e.g., pallets, shrink wrapping), unloading received merchandise, and preparing and distributing merchandise from receiving to the appropriate store department. Also responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting customers in locating, selecting, demonstrating, and loading of merchandise in a friendly and professional manner.



Job Requirements

Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability any day of the week. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.



Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction).



Preferred Qualifications

6 months of experience operating a forklift in confined spaces (e.g., a semi-trailer).

Position Description

Responsible for assisting customers with all of their shopping needs including assisting customers in the selection, demonstration, preparation and loading of merchandise. Also responsible for responding to customer inquiries throughout their shopping experience including promoting customer loyalty plans and/or extended protection/replacement plans where appropriate.



Job Requirements

CSA Sales Floor: Requires morning, afternoon and evening availability any day of the week.

Weekend/Holiday Team: Requires morning, afternoon, and evening availability on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays.

Weekday Team: Requires morning and afternoon availability Monday through Friday during peak day hours.

Minimum Qualifications

6 months experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.

6 months experience using a handheld device (e.g., mobile phone, LRT gun, palm pilot, tablet, iPod) to enter, access, and output information.



Preferred Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Business, Retail Management, Specialty related to department (e.g., design, appliances) or related field OR Certification in trade related to department (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden).

1 year retail experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits.

1 year retail experience providing customer service, including identifying and resolving customer issues, assisting customers in locating product, greeting customers, answering phones, building relationships with customers, and thanking customers for their business.

1 year retail experience in related department (e.g., kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden).

1 year experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store.

Position Location: Norfolk, Virginia



This position is in the Supported Employment division of Didlake's Rehabilitation Services Department. The Employment Specialist III (ESIII) generates referrals from state Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and local Community Services Board Case Managers situated throughout Virginia; develops job opportunities at commercial and governmental sites located across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. areas; and, provides "time limited" employment services for the purpose of securing stable employment for people with severe disabilities. Lead for Project Search.
•Conducts situational assessment, Job placement and training, and follow along support to individuals with severe disabilities. Conducts intake of applicants. This position may on occasion write Individualized Service Plans (ISP) in accordance with Didlake policies and procedures and tracks individual progress.
•Provides travel training and appropriate assistance to maximize the safety and mobility of all consumers. Conducts job orientation on-site at commercial or government work sites.
•Provides rehabilitation counseling to supported employees. Provides crisis intervention. Implements the use of assistive technologies and identifies environmental modifications needed.
•Develops and implements strategies for training, instruction, and supervision of consumer. Collect, writes, and maintains data and appropriate documentation in accordance with CARF accreditation standards, rules and regulations promulgated by the Department of Rehabilitative Services (DARS), the Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services (BHDS), Didlake Policies and Procedures, and Statements of Work.

Develops and maintains a network of resources in the "Vocational Rehabilitation" community. Identifies job opportunities with potential employers in commercial and governmental industries (Job Development). Arranges meetings with hiring authorities of businesses to promote job prospects.


Desired Skills and Experience


BA/BS degree in a related field and two (2) years of direct care experience; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of paid direct service to people with disabilities. Ability to obtain and maintain Job Coach Certification required within six (6) months of hire. QMRP designation required.
