Public Relations Specialist - Stihl Inc., VA Beach

STIHL Inc. has an immediate opening for a Public Relations Specialist to maintain a favorable public image of STIHL and its distributors and dealers through local/national public programs and events, national trade shows, trade publication management, and association sponsorships. Position Responsibilities:
•Plans, develops, and maintains public relations activities and events to include preparation and distribution of information, photographs, or other media to ensure the public message/image is aligned with corporate strategies.
•Monitors STIHL P.R./press website, media trends and contacts; develops and maintains media contacts.
•Analyzes results of public relations activities, and reports on same to management.
•Produces or monitors the production of materials of new product press releases and brochures, as needed.
•Develops and executes the trade advertising program to achieve defined business objectives across all product categories. Establishes strategies, and monitors and manages program performance in print and digital channels. Coordinates with Sales and Marketing to ensure alignment with product and segment priorities. Overseas production of house publications such as Chainletters.
•Works directly with P.R. Agency(s) to build annual communications, outreach, trade advertising and publicity programs.
•Develops and administers the local and national sponsorship and donation program to meet STIHL objectives.
•Coordinates internal corporate communications with Human Resources department with respect to special marketing requirements.
•Represents STIHL at community projects and P.R. functions, including social, media/news events and business gatherings.
•Participates in the development of annual and project budgets as necessary. Manages appropriate budget areas and operates within budgetary constraints.
•Assists at the sales and marketing meetings as directed.
•Manages and coordinates STIHL P.R. efforts at national trade shows including press events, corporate and distribution involvement.
•Assumes additional related responsibilities as required



LOCATED IN VIRGINIA BEACH AREA!


Requirements:
•4 year college degree required, preferably in a related discipline.
•5+ years of related experience.
•Must have availability for regular overnight travel, approximately 60 nights per year.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with comfort speaking in front of groups of people.

Preferred:
•Experience with other marketing programs/software.
