Securewest International is looking for one duty operator for the night shift (0000 to 0800) for its 24/7 Maritime Assistance Center (MAC) located in Norfolk, VA. The main duties of the operator are as follows: - Under minimal supervision, be responsible for actions while maintaining the MAC. - Provide security assistance to clients in crisis situations and/or during security incidents. - Conduct research and maintain databases, gather information, prepare incident reports, print, collate, file, and perform other center- related administrative tasks. - Learn ISPS and MTSA regulations, Client Company directives and Securewest International procedures. RequirementsSkills and experience: - Skills (required) •Ability to think clearly and prioritize tasks under pressure, in a fast paced environment and under minimal supervision •Excellent written and oral communication skills •Superior attention to details •Superior customer service skills •Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and web search •Work schedule flexibility - Skills (preferred) •Practical knowledge of maritime security matters •Technical knowledge of Ship Security Alert Systems •Working knowledge of geographical coordinates systems •Knowledge of the world geography, major maritime routes and ports - Experience (required) •Military or Law Enforcement background - Experience (preferred) •Crisis management •Maritime industry or Navy/CG/law enforcement background •Sea duty •Maritime security This position offers approximately 124 hours/month. The hourly rate is $15.00. After training, the shift covered will be 0000 to 0800 (including weekends and holidays rotational schedule). This position offers annual leave time but no other benefits.
