Housekeeping Supervisor - Virginia Beach

Housekeeping Supervisor (VB)

Springhill Suites: Coastal Hospitality Associates. The Housekeeping Supervisor reports directly to the Housekeeping Manager. The Housekeeping Supervisor will Inspect rooms for cleanliness and required guest supplies; complete assignment sheets; report all maintenance problems to engineering; and lead the department in the Housekeeping Manager's absence.

Essential Functions: Manage department hours & room time as designated by Housekeeping manager
• Inspect Vacant and ready rooms. Correct any problems that you may find i.e., TV guide missing, menu missing, pen missing, curtains etc.
• Be familiar with Marriott brand standards.
• Print breakout reports for the room attendants and set up for their arrival.
• Supervise room attendants.
• Inspect rooms assigned in your area once the room attendants have cleaned them.
• Advise room attendants of any discrepancies and re-check once corrected.
• Update system with status of clean rooms once they have been inspected.
• Make sure that all lights and remote control are working properly in the room.
• Inspect for any need of repairs and maintenance and follow-up with a written work order.
• Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve guest concerns as they arise.
• Check to make sure that all closets (laundry chute and storage closets) are closed and locked at the end of your shift.
• Reconcile any room discrepancies (remaining departures) before leaving for the day.
• Clock in and out according to schedule including lunch breaks.
• Assist the Housekeeping manager with ordering of supplies and keeping monthly inventory.
• Must be aware and practice all emergency and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate team-building experience.
• Demonstrate ability to lead by example.
• Use a “hands-on” approach to management.
• Ability to inspire and train associates.
• Time management skills.
• Works with limited support.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Some knowledge of computers.
• Listening skills.
• Attention to detail and follow-up.
• Supports courteous, friendly, professional work environment -

Candidates must be willing to work a varied schedule to include holidays and weekends.

-Physical requirements include: walking and standing for up to 8 hours per day; pushing and pulling up to 200lbs; reaching; bending and stooping; and visually inspecting items.
