Duties and Responsibilities
Positions open at the Jail West located in Henrico and the Jail East located in New Kent facilities. Performs a variety of law enforcement duties in connection with the operation of the jail, court security and the Sheriff's Office; does related work as required. Supervises inmates at meals or on work duties, bookings and movement throughout the jail; writes reports on daily activities and on incidents that occur in the jail; answers telephone to give assistance to inmates or public.

Work Hours: Day and night shifts; 7:00am to 7:30pm or 7:00pm to 7:00am.

Salary: $35,673 yearly

Candidate Requirements
Summary of Qualifications Must: Be minimum age of 21 years; be a citizen of the United States; submit to psychological, physical and polygraph test; have a high school diploma or equivalent; not have been convicted of any felony; undergo thorough background investigation; be in possession of a valid driver's license by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Desired Education: GED / High School Equivalency
