Job Details: A multi-skilled individual that works in a healthcare setting to support the non-clinical and clinical functions of the service area. Performs administrative duties (scheduling, registration, filing, referrals, billing and bookkeeping) and maintains a clean organized work environment. Functions under the direction and continuous supervision of a licensed healthcare provider (MD, NP, RN, LPN) during performance of uncomplicated clinical services and tasks. Reports to department management. Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Education and Training Minimum: Graduate of an approved school for Medical Assistants (MOA, MAA, MA). One to two years experience in a related healthcare field preferred. Current registration/certification as a Medical Assistant preferred, or military medical experience with MA certification/registration required. Current CPR certification required. Copy of diploma/certificate from school on file in HR and in Department file. Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.
