Pump Station Technician (York County)

York County Jobs: Pump Station Tech- Part-time. $15/hr: Responsible for performing skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment of the County’s gravity and vacuum sewer systems. Monitors performance of pumps, motors, collection tanks, vacuum valves, air compressors, grinder pumps, and other equipment of the County’s waste water system. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance work, in addition to basic facilities maintenance work such as cleaning and painting facilities. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include some nights and weekends during emergency operations. High school graduate or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance work preferred.
Safety shoes required.
-Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with good driving record required. Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including generators, pumps, valves, tanks, controls, and various mechanic's equipment and tools. Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle. Work involves occasional lifting (weight varying between 40-100 pounds) and pushing and pulling, and hoisting of parts and equipment weighing between 40 and 50 pounds.
