JOB TITLE: Electronic Technician

Rate Range: $31.49 – 32.86 (PLUS .50 C.O.B. if on crew)

The department needs to fill this job with a candidate that can gain the knowledge to go onto crew as soon as possible. Internal and External candidates will be considered for this position with the intent of filling it with the most qualified individual that demonstrates the ability to learn the job and join the crew.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1.Candidates should have a record of satisfactory attendance, during the prior two (2) years. (no reprimands on file)

2.Successful candidate must have 5 or more years electrical industrial experience. Must be familiar with programmable controllers, 3 phase power, AC and DC drives/motors, as well as troubleshooting/repair of complex industrial electronic apparatus. Experience with temperature and/or servo controls would be an asset. Qualified candidate must have formal training through accredited program or apprenticeship and be willing to work a unique rotating shift schedule. This position requires a rotating 12 hour shift (night and days) and four days on followed by four days off. Weekend and holiday work will be required.

3.Candidate must have exceptional communication skills.

4.Candidates’ prior performance reviews must indicate that the employee performs satisfactorily in several key areas. These will include:

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Employee will be required to provide some of their own tools - a list will be provided.
2. Employee will be required to successfully complete a training program including proficiency exams, and a nine month probationary period.
3. The candidate must be aware that for this position it will be necessary that a fundamental part of the job may involve:
a) Climbing ladders
b) Operation and functional use of computers
c) Handling a variety of oils, cleaning agents, and coatings
e) Must work overtime as required
f) Must have excellent hand/eye coordination
