Employee Relations Specialist

PRA Group (Nasdaq: PRAA) - Norfolk, Virginia Area


Position Summary:

The Employee Relations Consultant supports the Employee Relations function within the Human Resources Department. This position serves at the corporate level providing support to HR Business Partners while interacting with all other HR functions with regards to matters such as interpretation of policies, progressive discipline, investigations and grievances.

Responsibilities:
•Reviews pre-employment screening process and partners with Recruiting to assess candidate’s fitness
•Advises HR Business Partners on interpretation of Company policies, progressive discipline matters and other employee related issues such as leave of absence
•Conducts internal investigation and recommends resolutions of HR Hotline complaints and internal investigations, and escalates when appropriate to the Employee Relations Manager
•Compiles, prepares and maintains regular reports and automated presentations; create and maintain database and spreadsheet files
•Assists in preparing and drafting EEOC position statements and other correspondences

Desired Skills and Experience

Professional Experience/Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree preferred; High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
•Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local employment and compliance regulations including: FLSA; Title VII; FMLA; ADA; ADEA and other laws and regulations affecting he workplace
•Proven written communications
•5-8 years’ experience in HR with 3-5 years of employees related experience preferred
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office
•Strong interpersonal skills and ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
