Facilities Director

Norfolk Botanical Garden seeks a candidate for the newly created position of Facilities Director. Reporting to the President, this new senior management position will be responsible for the buildings, equipment, and facilities of Norfolk Botanical Garden.




Job Description Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of the following: planning, directing, and overseeing building operations and services; analyzing utility bills and energy output; purchasing and repairing equipment; maintaining all buildings; and supervising all security measures.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Inspect structure of buildings and determine if repairs are needed
•Manage telecommunications and alarm systems, including installation
•Directly manage the maintenance of all buildings, utilities, HVAC systems, power tools and equipment, boats, trams, golf carts, and other vehicles
•Provide oversight and project management for any renovation, restoration, or other building projects
•Liaison with various City of Norfolk departments to obtain services and materials as needed
•Prepare budget inputs in conjunction with Finance Director
•Other duties as assigned by the President.



Job Skills and Requirements:
•High school diploma or GED
•Advanced training/education (preferred)
•Extensive experience in maintenance and facilities management
•Demonstrate excellent leadership and managerial experience and abilities; organization, planning, analytical and communications skills
•Knowledge of purchasing, supplies, equipment, and building repair
