Customer Service Representative (Norfolk) City Zoo

The City of Norfolk's Virginia Zoological Park is seeking a Customer Service Representative (Permanent-Part Time). This position will responsible to sell admissions, performs billing and collections duties, and posts fees for customers. Provides directions and information to patrons, generates cash receipts, reconciles accounts and maintains accounts receivable. Performs administrative duties and provides assistance as needed. Essential Functions: Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Sells admission through a retail management system. Assists in providing information and handles complaints tactfully. Greets callers or visitors; handles and process incoming calls; and takes messages. Directs inquiries to the proper source and answers questions within context of department procedures. May initiate routine correspondence in performance of duties and response to services.
• Interprets and applies established policies and procedures where clear and ample precedents have been established.
• Enters data or information into a terminal, PC or other keyboard device.
• Ability to communicate with customers, clients, or the public in person or by telephone.
• Ability to work under pressure, and handle problems and tasks which come up simultaneously or unexpectedly.
• Ability to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation. This learning takes place mainly in an on-the-job training setting.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
Education/Experience: Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. The preferred candidate will have two year of experience in customer service and cash handling. Excellent customer service skills. Additional Information & Requirements: Must have a Valid driver's lic.
