Bankruptcy Information Analyst

FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Norfolk, VA

JOB SUMMARY:

As an integral member of the Bankruptcy leadership team, the Information Analyst will support the Bankruptcy department by monitoring and evaluation core system inventories, identifying risks and opportunities, and communicating and initiating system updates.

The Analyst will collect data from various internal databases, sources and systems and will have a full understanding of business operations, functions, and associated risk.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Review bankruptcy inventories to identify data anomalies and ensure accounts are properly coded in core Portfolio Recovery Associates systems, including batch updates to systems, pushing anomalies to the appropriate parties for correction, and related follow-up actions
•Assist analysts supporting inventory and data management related tasks
•Support management with queries, reports, analysis, and database development as needed
•Active engagement, communication and a customer focused approach in support of Bankruptcy Operations, Secured Operations, Analytics, and Acquisitions
•Support bankruptcy operations by performing ops related tasks as department needs dictate
•Document all supported tasks with procedures and update as required
•Responsible for compliance with bankruptcy policies and procedures
•Responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and company policies across areas of organizational responsibility
Job Requirements
Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university in Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related degree with a minimum of three years of related experience in a Financial Services, Bankruptcy, Banking, or Collections environment.
•Proficiency in SQL and proven working knowledge of MS Access and Excel
•Ability to write and communicate professionally via email and phone effectively with other members of the business and department
•Proven experience in research and analysis, high volume account analysis strongly preferred
•Experience in analyzing and extracting data to provide reports to management on a regular basis
•Preferred knowledge of or experience with Collections laws- FDCPA, FCRA, CFPB, Dodd-Frank
