Director- Talent Management

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: Norfolk, VA

Job Summary:

As a member of the Portfolio Recovery Associates Human Resources team, the Talent Development Director is responsible for the direction and supervision of all talent management programs and initiatives to include succession planning, talent assessment, performance management, leadership development, professional learning & development and competency management. This role is also directly responsible for the Talent Management team and will collaborate with business and HR leaders to design, develop and implement talent management strategies to meet business needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•Collaboratively develop, implement, and manage global, enterprise-wide, strategic Talent Management initiatives
•Lead organizational change management on key Human Resources initiatives and conduct high-level organizational needs assessment around business and related Talent Management requirements to support need.
•Coaching
•Talent Management: Provide development, management and consultation on all talent processes, such as succession management, talent assessment, talent pool management, selection processes, training and development, talent retention, career management, competency management, performance management.
•o Manage performance, succession and talent planning processes to efficiently and effectively integrate talent management as a business process led by business leaders and supported by HR. (360, PMP, and Talent Review). Oversee the integration, and strategic usage of 360 feedback for development purposes.
•o Performance Management: Support and continuously improve processes and tools in Performance Management process. Includes goal setting, development planning and performance appraisals.
•o Partner with the Talent Acquisition Manager and business leaders on enterprise-wide, strategic workforce planning program.
•o Talent Management Metrics - Define key metrics to track and guide talent management efforts. Create talent depth metrics using competency ratings and 360 feedback to identify organizational learning opportunities, ROI of leadership training and functional/position strength. Develop systems for tracking current & future readiness of key positions.
•Talent Development: Collaborate with clients [business leaders and HR leaders] to develop and execute an incorporated approach to development. Understand and assess development needs, perform gap analysis, design and develop innovative and high impact programs and processes that build people management and leadership skills and capabilities to improve the depth and diversity of global leadership talent.
•o Develop/Implement innovative solutions to support a progressive learning and development model from Early Career Development to Executive Level Development Programs.
•o Competency Management - Determine competency gaps and partner with business leaders and HR leaders to identify strategies/tools to close gaps.
•o Prepare instructors with techniques and skills for training and dealing with employees.
•o Evaluates the effectiveness of professional training programs performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
•o Develop and implement metrics/measures to monitor the effectiveness and business impact of learning and development initiatives.
•Manage the Talent Development team to include providing regular and consistent feedback on classroom facilitation skills when applicable.
•Ensures compliance with all legal requirements.
Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or a related field required, Masters/MBA preferred.
•5-10 years of experience in Corporate Talent Management
•Experience in supporting global, enterprise-wide organizational development initiatives and/or interventions. Experience managing a team of professionals required
•In-depth experience with Change Management, Organizational Development, Performance Management, Talent Management and Learning and Development.
•Experience in diagnosing organizational problems/challenges, then developing and implementing appropriate solutions.
•A track record of success in managing large scale programs/processes to develop leaders and associates across multiple functions & divisions across the globe.
•Ability to understand & articulate the strategic value of TM tools/processes.
•Survey design & implementation.
•Experience with Executive Coaching
•Selection & assessment skills.
•Strong analytic skills.
•Strong writing& communication skills & ability to synthesize information into clear concise messages.
•Strong relationship building skills and ability to influence senior management.
•A track record of managing and developing others.
•Understanding of enterprise software solutions (i.e. Performance management & succession management, Learning Management).
•Ability to develop and maintain highly effective relationships, externally and internally.
•Solid sense of confidentiality and discretion.
•Ability to operate individually and employing solid decision-making skills.
•Exceptional interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
