Description:
Plans, develops, and oversees after-school/day camp program for Hampton Roads Area Command Kroc Center; manages, directs, coaches staff; ensures well-being of children in the program; orders snacks and supplies; keeps statistical records up to date; collects and tracks fees; prepares reports for Assistant Program Director and parents; ensures facility is maintained; schedules and prepares programs and materials; secures and/or provides transportation.


Required Experience:
Knowledge of child development. Knowledge of elementary education. Knowledge of bookkeeping. Knowledge of English grammar. Skill in staff training. Ability to deal with multi-tasking situations. Ability to deal with high-stress situations. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports in an accurate and complete manner. Ability to clearly communicate roles and responsibilities to subordinates. Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of subordinates. Ability to plan ahead. Ability to perform basic math functions.


Required Education:
45-hour school-age class OR six college credit hours in an education related field, in addition to high school diploma or equivalent AND one year experience working with children in a child development field OR
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:
First Aid and CPR
Valid State Driver’s License
