Definition Full-Time (Salaried) Pay Band Job Description The Office of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving is an energetic program with the goal of reaching historic new levels of alumni involvement in the life of the Norfolk State University. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving reports to the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving and is responsible for leading, planning and implementing a comprehensive Annual Giving program that will increase alumni giving participation and financial support to Norfolk State.

The Assistant/Associate Director of Annual Giving will spearhead the Annual Giving Program to include annual alumni solicitations, phonathons, the faculty and staff campaign, the senior class gift, and parent campaign. The Assistant Director will be expected to employ analytics in determining and carrying out successful tactics to achieve financial and donor count objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish fundraising goals, objectives, strategies, schedules, budgets and analysis of results for each initiative of the Annual Giving Program.
- Oversee all annual initiatives including: managing a targeted, multi-approach direct mail program, conducting personal solicitations, administering a phonathon and electronic campaigns.
- Support the development of the University's leadership annual gift societies, including planning all marketing efforts, tracking donor acquisition and renewals, assisting with stewardship activities and working with prospect managers on appropriate solicitation of their prospects.
- Analyze data regarding annual giving programs and past giving trends to provide analyses of program results and to plan for future segmentation.
- Implement plans to increase the percentage of donors who take advantage of corporate matching gift programs.
- Other duties as assigned the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving.

Minimum Qualifications Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College preferably with a minimum of five years of progressive experience in annual giving and/or fund raising.
- Experience in educational advancement preferred.
- Excellent written, oral, organizational and interpersonal skills; demonstrated personal solicitation experience.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of database research and maintenance.
- Ability to manage students and volunteers of all ages.
- Ability to work independently and achieve results with minimum supervision.
- Must be able to travel and work evenings and weekends as warranted.
