JOB TITLE: Machinist

Rate Range: $31.49 – 32.86

REQUIREMENTS
Position Requirements:
• Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or equivalent and job related experience for 5 years minimum.
• Working knowledge of the following areas: welding, brazing, burning, bending; shearing and drilling; machinery; nomenclature of assigned equipment; knowledge in the use, care and calibration of optical, electrical, and mechanical gauging equipment and instruments; standard machine shop tool and die practices; metallurgy and heat treatment.
• Ability to apply independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard maintenance, machine shop, and tool & die techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Ability to demonstrate skill in operation of grinders, lathes, drill presses, milling machines and other machine shop equipment, working to tolerances of up to +/- .0001.
• Ability to arc weld, MIG weld, TIG weld, and oxy-acetylene equipment; use hand and power tools; perform general plumbing and piping; perform general structural and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to meet deadlines and to concentrate and pay attention to detail.

The candidate must be aware that for this position it will be necessary that a fundamental part of the job may involve:
a) Climbing ladders
b) Operation and functional use of computers
c) Handling a variety of oils, cleaning solvents, and coatings
d) Must learn to identify product defects
e) Must work overtime as required
f) Must have excellent hand/eye coordination
g) Entering ovens for clean-out, including washer, deco, and IC oven
