Description POSITION SUMMARY:

Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and maintains cleanliness and organization of the lobby area. Responsible for membership sales, renewals, and prospect follow up as directed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.

2.Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sells memberships.

3 Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
4.Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.

5.Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.

6.Adheres to all policies, guidelines, rules, best practices as outlined by the YMCA of South Hampton Roads or directed by supervisor.

7.Assist in all areas as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
segments of the community
4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
5. Basic knowledge of computers.
6. Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Walk, run, stand, climb, kneel, sit on floor and get back up and stoop.

2. Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking.

3. Lift and pull up to 50 pounds.

4. Stand or sit for long periods of time.

5. Physically able to successfully complete required certifications.

6. Perform the duties of direct reports.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

Accountable for completion of assigned goals as measured by the number of people served, service satisfaction scores, operating results, and supervisor evaluation of assigned duties.

An offer of employment is contingent upon receipt of satisfactory results to meet minimum requirements of the position. The requirements may include background check, drug test, drivers license record, CPS, and/or criminal background check.

Additional drivers license check, CPS, criminal background check, alcohol, and/or drug testing may be required to be processed in the future in order to meet and/or maintain the requirements of this position.
