Duties and Responsibilities
The Commonwealth STEM Industry Internship Program (CSIIP) provides an online system for undergraduate students majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM) disciplines at Virginia higher education institutions. Students submit a single application package that will be considered by numerous companies across the state, offering paid internship positions. CSIIP is managed by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium, which works in partnership with Virginia's Regional Technology Councils and in collaboration with Virginia's colleges and community colleges to provide the most expansive network of opportunities and contacts possible. No cost is required for students or companies to participate. Companies will directly hire interns. Companies enter internship information, including title, description, duration, hours per week, and salary. Companies will have access to the applicant database upon registration. Note: Interns are responsible for their own transportation and housing.

Work Hours: The duration of summer internships will be ten to 12 weeks, with 20 to 40 hours per week.

Salary: A minimum pay range of $10 to $15 per hour.

Candidate Requirements
Summary of Qualifications CSIIP participants must have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.7 on a 4-point scale. Applicants must have sophomore status before starting their internship. Graduating seniors will also be considered.
Desired Education: GED / High School Equivalency
Relevant Experience: Mathematics
